Hardware Ranch 2013

We have talked for a long time about wanting to take the boys to see Hardware Ranch up near Logan.  This year we decided we were going to do it no matter what. And a bonus for the boys was that we were so close to Blue Bird Cafe that we just just had to stop in.  They LOVE their burgers and ask all the time when we can go there again.  It was a great day with wonderful weather.

Garrett loves his Daddy so much.

It was kind of hard to get a picture of the whole family on the wagon.

Christmas

I am really trying to get back into blogging about our family, and decided the easiest way would be to just start with the pictures that are currently on my camera.  So we will start with Christmas 2013.  We had a great day just hanging around the house.  The Grandparents all stopped by, and Adam and Judy came for a bit.  It was a great relaxing day with plenty of time to play with new toys and just enjoy eachothers company.

Cooper has been wanting an RC helicopter for as long as I can remember.  He was so excited to finally get it this year.

Todd took Griffen Porter and Garrett to see the movie planes in the fall when we had Janessas baby shower at our house.  Porter loved the movie and has been obsessed with "Planes" things ever since.  He loved his new slippers.

I got my first pair of cowgirl boots.  I LOVE them and wear them everywhere.  They are so comfy, and Pink!

I am not sure who was more excited that Griffen got Despicable Me 2 in his stocking, I am pretty sure Hayden was.

Ice Sculptures and random things

My parents moved up to Heber two years ago. A few weeks ago they invited us up to go Bowling and to see the ice sculptures in Midway. I was blown away by these sculptures. They were really neat, and apparently change every day depending on weather. The boys had a great time. Griffen didn't want to leave, so Grandpa took him around to look at them all again as we loaded the others in the car. I hope to be able to do this again next year with them and see all the changes.

Hayden got a neat dinosaur dig for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Sargent. He and Cooper had a great time digging it all up and putting the dinosaur together.

Porter loves to read his books. One day I was working at the kitchen table sewing my curtains and he just couldn't get close enough. Pretty soon he climbed up on the table with his blanket and pe-ow (pillow) and book and just read while I worked. The other boys were at school and it was just the two of us. He stayed like this while I sewed for over an hour. We talked and he showed me pictures. One of my favorite moments with him.

Porters Birthday

I know I am way behind the times on my blog. I always say I will keep up on it then time slips away from me. So, here I am catching up on Porters birthday, which was just over a month ago.

We had planned a fun party for Porter, but at the last minute things changed. Hayden got sick, Each set of grandparents had to cancel on us, Griffen was a nightmare and had to go to bed, so it ended up me and Todd, Cooper and Porter. Porter really didn't know what to do with the candles on his cake, but Todd helped him figure it all out.

Cooper was so excited for Porters birthday. He wanted to go to the store and buy him something so bad. Then he started thinking about it and decided it would be more special if he made porter something. Cooper is so good this way. He is always thinking of how to make someone happy. He is so genuine in his efforts and puts so much heart into everything he gives. He finally decided to draw Porter some dinosaurs since he has dinosaurs on his cake. He could hardly wait to have Porter open his gift.

We got Porter a bike for his birthday. He was so excited and rode it around the house for days. He has been into knock knock jokes lately, and the addition of his bike gave him a great idea for a new joke. .. Knock knock. Whose there? My bike. Ha ha ha ha. Say ha ha mommy. He told this joke over and over for a few days. Since his birthday he will sometimes disappear. We follow the open doors and find him riding his bike in the garage. He loves this bike so much, and really loves being outside. It is always so sad for him when we have to come back in the house. He would be out there all the time if we could just let him.

Happy Birthday my sweet funny little man!!

Life is sweet...

We were having a great day working on a puzzle. The boys were being so good when my mom called. She needed me to go downstairs and email her something real quick. I was gone 2-3 minutes tops. When I came back upstairs I found all these little white footprints on the floor and could hear giggling from the kitchen. I followed the tracks to find this.... Griffen and Porter rolling around in powdered sugar. They were licking it off the floor, wrestling in it and having the time of their lives. When they saw me they immediately ran up and hugged me, covering me in the powdery white stuff too. I decided I could laugh or cry at this point, and I decided to get my camera and just let them have fun.
I cannot believe how hard powdered sugar is to clean up. It gets so sticky and messy. I am pretty sure I had to mop and wipe things down at least 50 times before we no longer stuck to it all. As I was cleaning I recognized the sound of the microwave running. I was terrified to think what I would find in there. I opened it to find that they had in fact planned to make cupcakes, but in lifting the pan to the microwave some spilled and they decided that would be so much fun to play in.
